Senior Nurse

I am actively recruiting for a Senior Nurse for a medium sized home which provides care for young adults with complex physical and mental health needs, including challenging behaviour, Huntington's disease, brain injury and mental health problems. The home has strong links with local services, GP's, primary care services and specialised services including the Huntington's Disease Association. This is a great opportunity to use and develop your management abilities.
 
You will need to be RGN/RMN/RNLD qualified with this role with a valid NMC pin.
 
DUTIES:
 
- Acting as a named Nurse
 
- Administering, reviewing and monitoring medications
 
- Assessing, planning and implementing support plans to meet the individual needs
 
- Supervising the care team to ensure that the shift runs smoothly and efficiently through positive role modelling and leadership
 
- Responsible for the shift management of a unit
 
- Contribute positively to the setting and development of measurable standards of care relevant to the specialty; and participate in the introduction and maintenance of such strategies
 
- Promote good relations with the public, service user's relatives, GP's and all other external professional and statutory bodies
 
- Supervise and provide direct care to all clients
 
- Maintain and develop positive professional relationships with internal departments and outside agencies, professional and statutory bodies, to promote an effective working relationship which aims to enhance the quality of life of the client
 
- Deputise for the Registered Manager / Care Manager in his / her absence
 
- Participate in staff recruitment, selection and retention
 
EXPERIENCE:
 
- Nurse qualified with a valid NMC pin
 
- Fulfill professional and legal responsibilities with respect to the safe storage and handling and administration of medicines
 
- Awareness of Health and Safety, ensuring the safety of our service users and colleagues

Salary: Circa £35,568 based on 42 hours per week (£16.28 per hour) day and night shifts available
 
All applicants will be checked against the Disclosure and Barring service (DBS).
